Account Executive, Ticket Sales


Account Executive, Ticket Sales is responsible for generating new business ticket revenue and season seat retention, with additional sales responsibilities to follow, including but not limited to group sales and flex pack sales. The role is primarily focused on retaining and selling new season seats and through targeted prospecting, face to face meetings and your own personal network. Specifically, to increase revenue for the ticket sales and service team, while leveraging new and unique ideas that will create memorable experiences for fans.


The expectation is the candidate will be active and responsible for the following areas:

Outside Sales:

  • Lead generation for New sales team
    • Looking for expressions of interest in 2018 information
    • Booking face to face / open house appointments for New sales team scheduled times at stadium
    • Event RSVPs / Invitations SME community
    • Targeted outbound drop offs

Retention/Inside Sales:

  • Manage assigned accounts and develop strong professional relationships with Ticats season seat holders
  • Regular communication with accounts to ensure proactive service and guarantee renewals
  • Execute client requests for seat relocation, upgrades and additionals
  • Respond to inbound customer calls/emails in a positive and timely manner
  • Execute service and retention initiatives throughout the season to promote engagement and enhance the value proposition
  • Fostering SSH relationships continuing Thank You with messaging around 2018/2019 incentive programs
    • Additional seats
    • Referrals
    • Upgrade = additional renewal rewards
  • Seat beside lists, “New inventory available” once seats are released
    • Specific targeted messaging
  • Prospect, engage and close group sales through targeted prospecting, meetings and networking channels
  • Meet or exceed weekly/monthly/quarterly Ticketing team revenue and prospecting goals
  • This individual will be an important ambassador for the Club’s Business Development agenda. Candidate must be seen as a problem-solver who is consistently focused on possibilities vs. limitations, employing a positive, collaborative team approach to all internal and external relations
  • Work closely with Ticket Operations department to ensure accurate fulfillment of all ticket transactions
  • Participate in various Ticketing team and community events as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records in support of ticket sales and service efforts as defined by the organization
  • Other Tasks/Duties – Actively participate in Tiger-Cats gameday experience; attend all Tiger-Cats home games and will also assume other job function related duties not specifically defined in this offer as assigned by the candidate’s direct report

Tiger-Cats Shop – Retail/Game Day Sales Associate

  • Assist customers with locating suitable products, sizes, styles and colours
  • Handling a variety of payment options accurately and in a timely manner through our POS system (ERPLY)

  • Monitor customer satisfaction through interactions during sales presentations

Customer Assistance Team (C.A.T.)

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to join our Customer Assistance Team for the remainder of the 2018 season! Each position plays an integral role in successfully creating and delivering world-class Guest Experience.

Ticket Scanners:

  • Greet all guests entering Tim Hortons Field in a friendly manner
  • Scan tickets upon guest entry and upon exit (through smoking gates ONLY)
  • Read tickets carefully to provide accurate directions to seating sections
  • Work efficiently to minimize wait time and congestion at gates


  • Check section before the game to ensure all seats are clean and check again post-game to identify any lost items
  • Correctly direct guests to their seats and resolve any issues that arise with guests who may be in the wrong seats
  • Monitor section throughout the game and ensure no one is encroaching on guests in accessibility seating
  • Hold guests at the top of the section while play is going on

Guest Services Representatives:

  • Address fan inquiries and concerns while stationed at a Guest Services Desk
  • Provide accurate and helpful information to guests on amenities and services provided at Tim Hortons Field
  • Quickly act upon requests or complaints from guests and refer any serious problems to supervisory teams and/or security personnel
  • Facilitate all Guest Experience programs, Lost and Found, and complete Incident Reports

Parking Attendants:

  • Efficiently and safely guide vehicles to parking spots within designated lots
  • Ensure only guests with appropriate parking passes are permitted into the correct lots
  • Quickly process cash transactions ensuring the correct amount of change is provided

Elevator Attendants:

  • Greet all guests using the elevator with a friendly and helpful attitude
  • Ensure safe and efficient travel of guests while using the elevators
  • Provide correct directions to fans upon exit of the elevator

  • Set-up and tear down of all game day marketing and corporate activations
  • Set-up all premium and non-premium ticketing areas, including but not limited to the Club, Seagram’s lounge, Field side, Suite Level, and Coors Light Patio
  • Set-up of any event spaces utilized during games or on off days
  • Assistant all other departments to ensure that the Hamilton Tiger-Cats game day experience is a success
  • Set-up all parking infrastructure and signage

Hamilton Tiger-Cats & Forge FC Internship Program

Location: 500 Sherman Avenue North and Tim Hortons Field – Hamilton, Ontario

Internship Duration: four-month term: January 9th – April 30th OR eight-month term: January 9th – August 30th.

Hourly Commitment:

  • Four-Month term: Regular business hours + 2019 Forge FC home games and special eventsat Tim Hortons Field.
  • Eight-Month term: Regular business hours + 2019 Forge FC home games, 2019 Tiger-Cats home games and special events at Tim Hortons Field.
  • Stipend: $300 per month + payment for each Forge FC and Tiger-Cats home game worked. $500 honorarium at the end of a four-month term; $1,000 honorarium after an eight-month term.

The purpose of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Forge FC Internship Program is to educate participants in all areas of operation of a professional sports organization, and to prepare them for entering today’s competitive career market place. Through observation and hands on experience, participants learn how to function in a high-energy professional environment, perform under pressure, show initiative in developing and executing new programs, and utilize essential time management skills. All participants will receive proper guidance, structure, and coaching to ensure their time in the Program enhances their education and career development.

Intern, Forge FC Business Operations

This internship will provide the incumbent with an understanding of all aspects of our business as we launch Forge FC during the Inaugural Season of the Canadian Premier League. Throughout your internship you will develop an understanding of all aspects of our business, creating programs integral to the business operations across all departments (ticketing, partnerships, marketing, retail, venue operations and community), setting the foundation for the long-term success of the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Assist with promoting and selling Forge FC Co-Founder Memberships
  • Coordinate and assist with the execution of Forge FC community programs and events in the Hamilton region
  • Support with event and marketing production

Intern, Guest Experience & Stadium Operations

The Guest Experience and Stadium Operations intern will play a key role in executing and improving departmental programs for the Guest Experience and Stadium Operations Departments. The Guest Experience and Stadium Operations Departments’ goal is to provide the best customer service possible and to execute events with the highest level of excellence at Tim Hortons Field. This role will also provide valuable recruitment and management experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in interviewing and hiring a portion of the Customer Assistance Team (ushers, ticket takers) and Operations Team
  • Assist in the management of the Customer Assistance Team and Operations Team at home games and special events
  • Update the Customer Assistance Team and Operations Team training programs and assist with staff training
  • Apply new policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of service for all fans
  • Manage the Secret Shopper and Tim Hortons Field Ambassador programs including supervising staff, special occasion in-seat visits, and accessible escorts
  • Assist in the preparation of the stadium for each stadium event – set-up parking signage, gate barricades, field of play, and all specialty seating areas

Intern, Ticket Operations, Sales & Service

The Ticket Operations, Sales and Service Intern will acquire a complete understanding of the operations of the Business Development Department.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the Business Development, Customer Service, and Ticketing Operations Departments
  • Learn Archtics, the Ticketmaster ticketing system, including the sales process and pulling reports
  • Participate in setting up and executing Tiger-Cats and Forge FC games and other Business Development events
  • Gain customer service experience while working in the Ticket Office on game-days
  • Assist with general administrative work including but not limited to: maintaining/organizing files, data entry, copying, filing, and faxing
