The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Monday the football club has signed five international players on offence, including running back Rajion Neal, and wide receivers Keyarris Garrett, Frank Stephens, Ray Bolden and Desmon White.
Neal, 25, served time on the Tiger-Cats practice roster at the end of the 2017 season. He spent time in the National Football League with the Cleveland Browns (2016-17), Pittsburgh Steelers (2015-16), Oakland Raiders (2015), Miami Dolphins (2015) and Green Bay Packers (2014-15). Neal never saw NFL regular season action, but suited up in 11 preseason games, accumulating 114 rushing yards on 26 carries with one touchdown, and 12 receptions for 86 yards and a receiving touchdown. The 5-11, 220-pound native of Fayetteville Georgia, played 43 games over four seasons (2010-13) at the University of Tennessee, registering 444 carries for 2,163 yards and 19 touchdowns, while adding 66 receptions for 626 yards and five receiving touchdowns.
Garrett, 26, was a member of the Carolina Panthers practice squad from May 2016 to September 2017. The 6-3, 215-pound native of Mount Pleasant, Texas made 46 appearances over four seasons (2011-15) at the University of Tulsa, collecting 219 receptions for 3,209 yards and 22 receiving touchdowns.
Stephens, 23, served time on the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad in 2018. The 5-11, 180-pound native of Oakland, California split his collegiate career with Contra Costa Community College (2013-15) and the University of Northern Colorado (2016-17). He posted 27 receptions for 500 yards and five receiving touchdowns in 20 games with the Northern Colorado Bears, adding two carries for 41 rushing yards and one kickoff return for 18 yards.
Bolden, 23, attended rookie minicamp with the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles in 2018. The 5-9, 165-pound native of Euless, Texas played 32 games over three seasons (2015-17) at Stony Brook College, registering 171 receptions, 2,081 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was a three-time colonial athletic association all-conference nominee with the Seawolves. Bolden also played one season (2013) at Moorpark College before transferring to Stony Brook.
White, 23, played four seasons (2014-17) at Texas Christian University, appearing in 49 games. The 5-7 160-pound native of DeSoto, Texas accumulated 104 receptions for 1,076 yards, seven receiving touchdowns, five carries for 26 yards, 19 punt returns for 198 yards and one punt return touchdown. He also completed one pass for a 27-yard touchdown during his time with the Horned Frogs.
