2016 Ticats Cheerleader Audition Details Announced


Benefits of being a Tiger-Cats Cheerleader:

All women wishing to audition for the 2016 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Cheerleading Team must meet the following requirements:

  • You must have graduated secondary school
  • You must be physically fit
  • You must have a dance, cheer, and/or gymnastics background
  • You must be 19 years of age by November 1, 2016
  • You must be available for all Hamilton Tiger-Cats home games at Tim Hortons Field during the 2016 season. Click here to view the 2016 schedule.
  • You must be available for two (2) rehearsals per week from April to December. Rehearsals will take place every Thursday and Sunday evening until June 30 and Tuesday and Thursday evening from July to November 22 at Dancemakerz Studio in Waterdown (times TBA).
  • You must be available for Cheer Camp Day on Sunday, April 10 (time and location TBA)

Cheer Tryout Agenda – Sunday, April 3 at 5 Star Fitness 

12 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Registration

12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Warm-up/stretch and introduction

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Choreography

2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Audition process

*Interviews will be held on Wednesday, April 6 at the Hamilton Tiger-Cats office (sign-up sheet will be provided at the auditions)
**Team will be announced on Friday, April 8 on

What to wear:

All women auditioning for the 2016 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Cheerleading Team should come dressed in proper attire:

  • All black dance wear – half-top and leggings or shorts (no baggy tops or pants)
  • Dance or sports shoes
  • Camera-ready hair and make-up (hair down)

What to bring:

Please bring the following items to the audition:

  • Photo identification
  • Current full-length photo of yourself (if you haven’t submitted one with your registration form)
  • Resume
  • $20 registration fee
  • Snacks
  • Bottled water

How to register:

To register for the 2016 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Cheerleader auditions, please complete and attach the registration form below, along with a full-length photo of yourself, and send to by Wednesday, March 30 at 11:59 p.m. You will also need to bring $20 (payable by cash only) for the audition registration fee.
