3 Keys: Ticats @ Als

The Ticats play the second half of their home and home with the Montreal Alouettes Thursday night, at Percival Molson Stadium. Hamilton took the first matchup 41-10 last week. These are the three keys to the game, for them to sweep the home and home series.

1.Keep Speedy Going

Speedy B was an absolute beast last week. He had eight touches 182 yards and a touchdown at Tim Hortons Field. He was causing all kinds of problems for the Montreal defence and if I’m calling plays (thankfully for Ticats fans, I’m not) I’m going right back to the well and seeing if Montreal has found an answer for number 16.

2.Defensive Line

Speaking of absolute beasts, two words. Ja’Gared Davis. Davis had seven tackles and three sacks last week against the Als. The entire defensive line as a whole was dominant actually. Both Vernon Adams Jr. and Matthew Shiltz barely had time to set their feet before a black and gold jersey was in their face. In addition to the three from Davis; Ted Laurent, Dylan Wynn and Julian Howsare all registered a sack in the game. If they can be that effective again this week, it will surely be another long night for the Montreal quarterbacks.

3.Homecoming

Sean Thomas Erlington will be playing infront of friends and family in his hometown of Montreal Thursday night. This will be nothing new for Thomas Erlington , who played his university ball with the Montreal Carabins. He is also undefeated as a pro in his hometown. The first of his two wins came in 2017 where he didn’t register a touch. The second was last year, when he had four carries for 40 yards, and recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown. Ticats fans will be hoping Thomas Erlington keeps his perfect hometown record going, and propels them to a 4-0 start.

Kick off in this game gets underway at 7:30 p.m. from Percival Molson Stadium, and can be seen on TSN.
