The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Thursday, Hamilton media legend Bill Kelly has joined the Ticats Audio Network and will host a weekly podcast, Countdown to Grey Cup delivered by Purolator.
Kelly, who is a Hamilton native and a graduate of Mohawk College, most recently hosted The Bill Kelly Show on AM900 CHML for the past 17 years (2006-23). He began his media career in the 1980s and worked at CHML until 1995 when he took a hiatus from the media business and sought election to Hamilton City’s Council where he held a seat from 1995-2006. Kelly also served as the in-stadium announcer for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Ivor Wynne Stadium for 13 seasons.
“As a lifelong fan of our Hamilton Tiger-Cats, I’m very excited to join the great team of experts on the Ticats Audio Network.” Said Kelly. “We’ll talk to Tiger-Cat players and coaches past and present and tell the stories that have made the Tiger-Cats one of the most iconic teams of all time. Oskee Wee Wee!”
Channeling his lifetime passion for the Tiger-Cats and the city of Hamilton, Kelly will interview stars of past Grey Cups—beginning with Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterback Danny McManus. Kelly will also keep fans up to date with all the news and updates regarding the 110th Grey Cup and the 2023 Grey Cup Festival.
In addition to Countdown to Grey Cup delivered by Purolator, Kelly will be involved in various upcoming projects with the Ticats Audio Network.
