About Food4Kids Hamilton
Food4Kids provides healthy food to 1,250 kids from 68 schools across Hamilton ranging from 4-to-17 years old every week. Each child registered in the program is in jeopardy of going days without food and has been identified by their school as living with hunger as a way of life. During the school year, Food4Kids packages and delivers food bags to each child. Every Friday the food bag is discreetly tucked into their backpack at school, sending them home with enough food for the weekend. Each food package contains kid friendly, non-perishable and easy to prepare meals with maximum nutrient value; ensuring children lacking food are provided with nourishment vital to their physical, emotional, cognitive, social and academic success.
