TICATS AUDIO NETWORK EXPANDS IN BOTH TALENT AND REACH
The Ticats Audio Network made a series of announcements Wednesday, including adding Clint “Bubba” O’Neil as the new host of the pre, half and postgame shows and the addition of Mike Daly to an already comprehensive lineup. The Ticats Audio Network also expanded its reach, adding two new affiliate radio stations including 1460 CJOY in Guelph and CityNews 570 in Kitchener.
O’NEIL TO HOST PRE, HALF AND POST
O’Neil, who brings over 20 years of broadcasting experience, including more than 17 years with CHCH, is moving into the host’s chair on game day as he takes a more prominent role among the most star-studded team in Canadian sports broadcasting alongside Ticats alumni Luke Tasker, Andy Fantuz, Courtney Stephen, Mike Daly, Rob Hitchcock and Mike Morreale and veteran play-by-play broadcaster R.J. Broadhead. Louis “Louie B” Butko, who will continue to hold a prominent role with Ticats coverage on The Ticats Audio Network, is relinquishing his game day duties as he takes-on another broadcast opportunity on weekends.
Kitchener native and former Tiger-Cats defensive back, Mike Daly is the newest member of the Ticats Audio Network’s robust roster. The 32-year-old played 91 games over his seven seasons in black and gold, registering 101 total tackles, eight interceptions and one quarterback sack. He’ll be featured in weekly Ticats Audio Network content as he partners with friend and former teammate Courtney Stephen on Tiger-Cats Gameday, a podcast available via the Ticats Audio Network on the morning of games.
Tiger-Cats fans in Guelph and Kitchener will now be able to listen to Tiger-Cats games on local radio, beginning with O’Neil and Tiger-Cats Pregame, all the way through Tiger-Cats Postgame on 1460 CJOY and CityNews 570. This brings the Ticats Audio Network up to four affiliate radio stations, including AM900 CHML in Hamilton and Newstalk Sauga960AM in Mississauga. Fans, no matter where they are, can also listen to every Tiger-Cats game including pre, half and postgame coverage via listen.ticats.ca and on the Ticats All-Access App.
