Interior lineman signs two-year deal with Ticats

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Wednesday, the football club has signed American defensive lineman Casey Sayles to a two-year contract.

Sayles, 27, started 18 games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2022, registering 36 total tackles, one tackle for loss, six quarterback sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass knockdown. The 6’4, 282-pound native of Omaha, Nebraska has played 32 games over two seasons with the Blue Bombers (2021-22), registering 64 total tackles, 11 quarterback sacks and two forced fumbles.

Prior to making the move north of the border, Sayles spent time in the National Football League with the Los Angeles Rams (2017) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2018-19) while also spending time in the now defunct Alliance of American Football with the Birmingham Iron (2019) and in the XFL with the St. Louis BattleHawks (2020). The Ohio University product played 45 games over four seasons (2013-16) with the Bobcats.
