TIGER-CATS SIGN TWO DEFENSIVE LINEMEN INCLUDING WILLIAMS AND WARD JR

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Wednesday, the football club has signed two American defensive linemen including re-signing McKinley Williams while signing Alvin Ward Jr.

Williams, 24, played one game in his first season in the Canadian Football League with the Tiger-Cats (2022), registering one defensive tackle. The 6’4, 285-pound native of Miramar, Florida previously spent time with the National Football League’s Indianapolis Colts (2022) after playing 61 games over six seasons (2016-21) at Syracuse University.

Ward Jr., 25, most recently played nine games over two seasons at Mercer University (2020-21), registering 39 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, .5 quarterback sacks, and one fumble recovery. The 6’4, 235-pound native Ahoskie, North Carolina began his collegiate career at Georgia Southern University, where he played 27 games over three seasons (2017-19), registering eight total tackles, one interception and one pass breakup.
