Junior Accountant

The Hamilton Sports Group, which operates the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club and Forge FC, is an organization with a rich history both on and off the field. Position: Junior Accountant

 

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Junior Accountant will work collaboratively within the accounting and finance team to achieve corporate objectives and reporting deadlines for the Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Club and associated companies.

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Manage daily treasury function and reporting
  • Record the daily retail merchandise activity
  • Reconcile concession revenue reports and inside catering expenses
  • Responsible for monthly general ledger analysis and working papers preparation
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • File government tax compliance – payroll withholdings, HST, EHT
  • Work game days and events at Tim Hortons Field
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Experience & Skills:

The ideal candidate will be experienced in financial reporting and treasury management within a very busy office environment. The Candidate must possess a passion to succeed, be very organized and have a keen eye for detail -together with a combination of the following:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential
  • Experience using Sage 50
  • Experience with Erply or Shopify point of sales retail software would be an asset
  • Access to a vehicle would be an asset

Account Executive, Business Development

Position Title: Account Manager, Business Development
Department: Ticket Sales & Service
Immediate Supervisor(s): Director, Ticket Sales & Service

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Manager, Business Development is responsible for generating new business ticket revenue and group sales revenue. The role is primarily focused on selling new season seat packages, premium seating packages and group ticket packages through targeted prospecting, face to face meetings and your own personal network. The primary focus is increasing revenue for the new business, premium seating and group sales teams, while leveraging new and unique ideas that will create memorable experiences for fans. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of outbound sales experience preferably in sports industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The expectation is the candidate will be active and responsible for the following areas:

  • Prospect, engage and close new season seat and premium seating sales through targeted prospecting, meetings and networking channels
  • Meet or exceed weekly/monthly/quarterly Ticketing team revenue and prospecting goals
  • This individual will be an important ambassador for the Club’s Business Development agenda. Candidate must be seen as a problem-solver who is consistently focused on possibilities vs. limitations, employing a positive, collaborative team approach to all internal and external relations
  • Assist Group Sales and the New Business team, ensuring revenue targets are being achieved
  • Work closely with Ticket Operations department to ensure accurate fulfillment of all ticket transactions
  • Participate in various Ticketing team and community events as assigned

Account Executive – Fan Relations & Customer Service

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Executive, Fan Relations & Customer Service will be responsible for day-to-day ticket department and account support while learning the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The primary focus is supporting the sales, retention and operations team by fulfilling the needs of our fanbase through email/phone communications and other customer service and administrative initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The expectation is the candidate will be active and responsible for the following areas:

  • Service-based emails and phone calls to season seat holders
  • Administration of Hamilton Tiger-Cats Home Field Advantage program
  • Service as it relates to The Hamilton Tiger-Cats All Access app
  • Accounts payable to ticketing department
  • Account Management in ticketing system
  • Management of promo codes to assist with group sales efforts of Ticketing department
  • Prospect, engage and close group and new season seat sales through targeted prospecting, meetings, and networking channels

Mascot

Reports to: Director Game Production & Events 

Job Summary: 

The Hamilton Sports Group are looking for dedicated, responsible & active individuals with a flexible
schedule to dress as the mascots for community events, appearances & game days as needed. Selected individuals will be added to our list of mascots to contact for games and events.  

This position pays per game/event. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Perform as the mascot personality in the eyes of the public. 
  • Interact with kids and fans during events in a positive and exciting way. 
  • Work with mascot spotter to ensure both fan and mascot safety 
  • Appearances may also include but not limited to suite visits, crowd prompts, dancing & various photo opportunities. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Expression of a friendly, engaging, enthusiastic & animated personality within a non-speaking role. 
  • Must be comfortable performing & interacting with fans in front of large crowds. 
  • Good physical condition with the ability to withstand the demands of performing in a costume. 
  • Ability to be self-sufficient and work individually when needed. 
  • Flexible schedule – Must be able to work home games, nights/weekends and holidays as required. 
  • Prior mascot or related experience preferred but not required. 
  • Minimum 18 years of age. 
  • Must be able to provide proof of full vaccination

Operations Team Member

Start Date: February 2022

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Forge FC are looking for energetic, passionate, and dedicated individuals to join our Operations Team. Successful applicants will join our Team in providing a world-class game-day experience throughout the 2022 season at Tim Hortons Field.

Responsibilities and Duties:                                           

  • Set-up and tear down of all game-day marketing and corporate activations
  • Set-up all premium and non-premium ticketing areas, including but not limited to the Club Level, Suite Level, and Coors Light Patio
  • Execute stadium conversion from Forge to Tiger-Cats and vice versa, including all in-bowl branding
  • Set-up of any event spaces utilized during games or on off days
  • Set-up all parking infrastructure and signage
  • Assist all other departments to ensure that the game-day experience is a success
  • Assist with stadium setup for licensee events
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions, including the possibility of inclement weather

Ideal candidates possess:

  • A charismatic, cheerful, and energetic personality
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to follow directions and work without direct supervision
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Customer Assistance Team

TERM LENGTH: March 2022 – December 2022

OVERVIEW

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Forge FC are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the Customer Assistance Team for the 2021 season! Each position plays an integral role in successfully creating and delivering a world-class guest experience at Tim Hortons Field. The Customer Assistance Team works all events at Tim Hortons Field. This includes: Hamilton Tiger-Cats home games, Forge FC home games, concerts and other sporting events.

This opportunity is perfect for anyone looking to gain experience working in event management, the sport and entertainment industry and who enjoys working in a team and customer facing environment.

Currently, game day opportunities are available to work Tiger-Cats games and the 108th Grey Cup. Additional opportunities to work other events may become available for team members at a later date.

Game day opportunities include:

  • Ticket Scanners (Welcome Team)
  • Ushers (Section Ambassadors)
  • Parking Attendants
  • All Access Team
  • 50/50 Ticket Seller

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Ticket Scanners:

  • Greet all guests entering Tim Hortons Field in a friendly manner
  • Scan tickets upon guest entry and upon exit (through smoking gates ONLY)
  • Read tickets carefully to provide accurate directions to seating sections
  • Work efficiently in a team environment to minimize wait time and congestion at gates
  • Assist co-workers in other positions by covering for breaks

Ushers:

  • Check assigned section before events to ensure all seats are presentable and after events to identify any lost items
  • Correctly direct guests to their seats and to other areas of interest inside Tim Hortons Field
  • Monitor assigned section throughout events and resolve any minor issues or concerns that arise
  • Check to ensure that nobody encroaches on guests in accessibility seating
  • Hold guests at the top of assigned section while football plays are ongoing
  • Interact and converse with guests to enhance their overall experience at the venue

Parking Attendants:

  • Ensure only guests with appropriate parking passes are permitted into correct lots
  • Quickly process transactions for guests parking at paid lots
  • Efficiently and safely guide vehicles in an organized manner to parking spots within designated lots

All Access Team:

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient process of fans using their All Access card/app or other payment methods at various concessions areas within Tim Hortons Field
  • Monitor concession areas to ensure that fans are prepared to use their All Access card/app or other payment methods
  • Answer all guest questions and inquiries regarding the All Access platform and concession payment systems
  • Communicate to fans the different features of the All Access platform

50/50 Ticket Seller:

  • Assist guests at Tiger-Cats games with purchasing, processing and printing 50/50 tickets at one of the fixed 50/50 locations at Tim Hortons Field
  • Answer all guest questions regarding the 50/50 draw at Tiger-Cats games
  • Work with other 50/50 ticket sellers to resolve issues regarding 50/50 sales and equipment
  • Please note that all 50/50 ticket sellers are paid a $50 honorarium after each game and not an hourly wage

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Retail Sales Associates will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service through the sales of retail merchandise at their assigned outlet. In this role, our staff will be focused on driving top line sales, strengthening an environment in which customer service is a top priority and offering our fans the best shopping experience available. Each individual will bring energy, inspiration and a drive to always be the best. Your passion, energy and excitement will be reflected through your interactions with our fans and is the foundation of our in-store culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assist customers with locating suitable products, sizes, styles and colours
  • Handle a variety of payment options accurately and in a timely manner through our POS system (ERPLY)
  • Maintenance, merchandising and responsibility of an assigned store location
  • Monitor customer satisfaction through interactions during sales presentations
  • Respond to customer problems with a focus on problem resolution within pre-approved limits
  • Seek customer feedback about Ticats products, services and events
  • Performs other duties as delegated or assigned by the Warehouse/Online Lead, Operations Manager, Director of Corporate Partnerships and Retail and other Senior Management
