Angelo Mosca, one of Canada’s greatest sports characters for more than 50 years will be honored at a charity fundraiser known as “STILL MOSCA” on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. The event was initiated and being driven by the Mosca family.
A CFL Hall of Famer and former professional wrestler, Mosca was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Donations can be made directly to the Angelo Mosca fund https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/alzheimersocietyfoundationofbrant-haldimandnorfolk-hamiltonhalton/ . You will be issued a tax receipt through Canada helps.
The event will be a unique night featuring sports celebrities who will help celebrate Mosca’s football and wrestling careers. The event will be held at Carmen’s Banquet Centre in Hamilton. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have thrown their full support behind this event, and will be hosting “Angelo Mosca Night” at their home game the following night.
Comedian Mike Bullard, TSN’s Brian Williams, CHML’s Bill Kelly and Dan “Pigskin Pete” Black will all be part of the evening’s festivities. Former CFL players including Canadian Football Hall of Famer’s Mike “Pinball” Clemons, Peter Dalla Riva, Terry Evanshen, WWE Hall-of-Famer Ric Flair, George Chuvalo, five-time Canadian heavyweight champion, and two-time world heavyweight title challenger; Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, World Boxing Hall of Fame, Order of Canada, and Canada’s Walk of Fame and many other professional athletes and celebrities will also be in attendance.

Fans will get a chance to get up close and personal with items such as the Grey Cup, the NWA Canadian Championship Wrestling Belt, Mosca’s 1965 Grey Cup Championship ring, and other personal Mosca items such as the cane used in the “capping” of Joe Kapp.
“I can’t believe what the kids, Helen my wife and the community are doing,” said Mosca. “It has brought out a great deal of emotion looking back at my life. I am very excited at seeing a few old friends with new teeth.”
“We are really looking forward to sharing an exciting fun filled evening with family, friends and the community as we pay tribute to our dad,” added Mosca’s daughter Jolene. “The “Still Mosca” Event is to honour, not just his incredible careers but also his selfless contributions to various charities and services. Please come and join us!”
