The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Bell Media announced Thursday that they have entered into a multi-year partnership to launch TSN Radio 1150 in Hamilton, the first ever all-sports radio station to be brought into the Hamilton regional market
TSN Radio 1150 Hamilton will be the voice of the Tiger-Cats, delivering game broadcasts, extended pre-game and post game coverage, weekly specialty programming, and hundreds of hours of other in depth coverage 365 days a year. In the lead-up to the official rebrand to TSN Radio this fall, Hamilton’s Classic Hits 1150 CKOC delivers game broadcast starting with the Ticats’ June 8 preseason game against Ottawa. Broadcast teams for Tiger-Cats games on the station will be confirmed in the coming days, and additional programming details will be announced in the months ahead.
“This partnership of three great brands, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Bell and TSN, will provide an unprecedented radio and multiple media platform that will further strengthen the strong Ticats presence in markets throughout the region,” said Scott Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. “In providing all of our fans and potential new customers the around-the-clock exposure that is only possible through an all-sports station, and with Bell committed to bringing all their regional media assets to bear in promoting and supporting this great concept, TSN Radio 1150 Hamilton will be the voice of our team as well as of our fans. This is game-changing news for everybody in TigerTown.”
With this announcement, TSN Radio is now available in seven major Canadian markets: Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.
“We are thrilled to announce this new expansion of TSN Radio, which now allows us to deliver the trusted news and analysis that fans have come to expect from TSN,” said Robert Gray, National Program Director, TSN Radio. “Hamilton sports fans are passionate and knowledgeable, and there is no better way to celebrate the addition of TSN Radio 1150 Hamilton than to become the home of their pride and joy, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.”
The acquisition of the radio rights to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats complements TSN Radio’s extensive slate of live CFL broadcast coverage, which includes the Toronto Argonauts on TSN Radio 1050 in Toronto, the Montreal Alouettes on TSN Radio 690 in Montreal, the Ottawa Redblacks on TSN Radio 1200 in Ottawa, and the B.C.
