Tiger-Cats Mourn Loss Of Cookie Gilchrist

TIGER-CATS MOURN LOSS OF COOKIE GILCHRIST

Hamilton, Ontario –  The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are mourning the loss of former player Cookie Gilchrist, who passed away this morning in Pittsburgh. He was 75.

Gilchrist spent two seasons (1956-57) with the Ticats, earning the team’s Most Outstanding Player Award and a spot on the Eastern All-Star team in each campaign while helping the Black and Gold earn a Grey Cup championship in 1957. 

“It is with sadness to hear about the passing of Cookie Gilchrist. The football world lost a great former player today. As an organization we send our condolences to his family,” said Ticats General Manager Bob O’Billovich.
