TIGER-CATS UNVEIL UNPRECEDENTED PLANS TO ENHANCE GAMEDAY FAN EXPERIENCE AND FOSTER 360° OUT-OF-SEAT SOCIAL VIEWING OPPORTUNITIES AT TIM HORTONS FIELD

The Stipley (Canada’s largest outdoor bar), a new kids playground experience and the introduction of End Zone Social Tickets highlight enhancements coming to Tim Hortons Field this season

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are giving fans even more to look forward to on gamedays this season with the introduction of additional family-friendly programming and socially-oriented out-of-seat viewing spaces at Tim Hortons Field in 2017.

Since opening its doors in September 2014, Tim Hortons Field has quickly developed a reputation among sports fans and concert goers alike for being one of the premier outdoor multipurpose venues in Canada. From unique premium seating options and amenities like the Field Side Lounge and Touchdown Lounge, to one-of-a-kind, social viewing areas that encourage out-of-seat viewing such as the Coors Banquet Bar and Pioneer Energy Zone, Tim Hortons Field offers something for everyone from the diehard season seat holder to the casual football fan.

After analyzing three seasons of data including game attendee survey results, observing fans’ viewing tendencies and preferences and ongoing dialogue with season seat holders, the organization and its corporate partners have spent the offseason developing innovative and creative ways to further enhance the fan experience at Tim Hortons Field with no additional increase to ticket prices.

Starting this season, Tim Hortons Field is yours to discover! In an effort to fully embrace the unique architectural design and layout of the venue, Ticats fans will be able to enjoy a 360° stadium experience in 2017. In addition to the Pioneer Energy Zone at the south end of the stadium, fans can now cross through the general admission area of the Coors Light Patio to meet up with friends on the opposite side of the stadium, or to stop and watch a part of the game from this unique sightline. Previously a designated ticketed area, the Coors Light Patio general admission section is now fully accessible to everyone with a ticket to the game.

Now entering the fourth season of Tiger-Cats football at the venue, which includes a streak of 27-consecutive sellouts, the Ticats are pleased to share plans for the latest wave of stadium infrastructure developments and stadium experience enhancements.

What’s new for 2017?:

The Stipley – Bragging rights for Canada’s largest outdoor bar will officially belong to Tim Hortons Field this season.  Named in recognition of the Stipley Neighborhood in which Tim Hortons Field is located, “The Stipley” spans the width of the south end zone between the Pioneer Energy Zone and the Touchdown Lounge. This 100-foot long, full-service bar will be the centerpiece of the redesigned south end zone. The Stipley Bar also doubles as the new home for the 12-foot tall Touchdown Whistle, a fan-favourite tradition at Tim Hortons Field. In addition to The Stipley, the adjacent Pioneer Energy Zone will feature new, large communal tables and a traditional BBQ experience to satisfy fans’ hunger on gamedays. The south end zone is also one of the best spots in the stadium to enjoy Canada’s largest high definition outdoor videoboard.

Stripes’ Jungle Inside the Findlay Family Zone – Welcome to the Jungle…Stripes’ Jungle! The Findlay Family Zone behind Section 109 has been completely re-imagined for the 2017 season, highlighted by a 2,000 square foot, custom Ticats themed kid’s playground which will be accessible free of charge. Featuring more mascot appearances, children’s menu items courtesy of Levy Restaurants and plenty of family friendly Cub Club activities, it will be hard to convince the kids to leave The Findlay Family Zone after the final whistle! Stripes’ Jungle will make its debut at the 2017 Home Opener on July 15th when the Ticats take on the BC Lions.

Craft Gardens – Located in the south-east corner of the stadium behind Section 118, the Craft Gardens will offer everything Hamiltonian’s love about the thriving craft beer and local eatery scene in the city. Beer from Creemore as well as Niagara Region’s Bench Brewing Company, and drawing inspiration from Hamilton’s most popular local eateries, stopping by the Craft Market just became part of your gameday routine.

FirstOntario Credit Union Community Lounge – Looking for a place to sit down, relax and enjoy your food or drinks, tucked away from the bustle of the concourse and out of the elements? The FirstOntario Credit Union Community Lounge (located beside Section 119) will offer a free-to-access destination for fans to do just that. With plenty of space to sit, the lounge will feature high definition televisions, custom art celebrating the “Best of Hamilton” and the FirstOntario Credit Union Fan Photo Wall; a permanent, 40-foot long wall displaying pictures and selfies of the TigerTown faithful in collage format.

Coors Light Patio, now fully accessible for all fans – Want to get out of your seat and take in the game from a different perspective? Canada’s most unique sports bar is now fully accessible for all fans in the building that have a ticket. One of Tim Hortons Field’s premier social hangouts, the Coors Light Patio is the perfect place to meet up with friends while enjoying a fantastic view of the field, stadium and the escarpment.

End Zone Social Tickets – With so much to do and see around the venue on gamedays, the Tiger-Cats are fully embracing the social viewing experience at Tim Hortons Field by introducing End Zone Social Tickets. A limited number of these non-assigned seats will be available on a single-game basis for every home game starting at the all-in price of $29 (includes taxes & fees). Available online at Ticats.ca or by calling the Ticats’ offices when general public single game tickets go on sale May 19, End Zone social tickets are ideal for fans who want to take advantage of the social environment at Tim Hortons Field. They will enable fans to watch the game action from the non-assigned seat section of the Coors Light Patio in the north end, and from the Pioneer Energy Zone in the south end. For more information on End Zone Social Tickets, please call a Tiger-Cats ticket representative at 905-547-2287 or email tickets@ticats.ca.
